Custom Metal Counters

Reception Desks & Bar Counters

Welcome meets service.

Custom metal reception desks and bar counters with coordinated surfaces and lighting.

Choose Materials & References

Start with how the counter will be used.

Reception desks and bar counters share a similar form, while the work behind them differs. Reception staff need a suitable workspace; beverage service needs preparation, serving and washing areas. Define the use first, then coordinate dimensions, materials and lighting for both the guest-facing side and the staff area.

TWO APPLICATIONS

A shared counter form. Two ways of working.

Plan the staff side around the daily needs of your hotel, restaurant or lounge.

Reception Desks

A workspace for welcoming guests, registration and daily reception tasks. The guest-facing side follows the interior design, while the staff side is arranged around the way your team works.

  • Plan for staff numbers and seated or standing work
  • Confirm surfaces and cable requirements around the actual computers, payment terminals or other equipment
  • Select the guest top and internal worktop separately

CHOOSE MATERIALS & REFERENCES

Find your finish. Shape your counter.

Start with a material or a counter reference, then develop the direction around your space, dimensions and staff-side use.

Bring your material codes or image references to the conversation. We can then confirm surfaces, dimensions and the internal layout together.

FOUR PARTS OF THE COUNTER

Consider structure, appearance and working surfaces separately.

A counter can combine several materials. Distinguishing these parts makes it easier to align the visual design with everyday use.

01

Main frame

A metal frame forms the primary structure, with construction details developed around the counter size, shape and selected finishes.

02

Front cladding

The main guest-facing surface uses material, texture, joints and form to connect with the interior design.

03

Guest top

The surface guests touch or use for personal items and drinks. Options include natural stone, artificial stone and sintered stone slabs.

04

Working surface

The surface used by staff, selected around reception tasks, beverage preparation or washing requirements.

Use typical dimensions as a starting point.

Overall length, corners, staff positions and equipment placement all influence the counter dimensions. Begin with a catalogue reference, then develop the layout against the site plan.

Overall height
Approx. 1,100 mm

A typical counter height reference, adjusted to the use and design requirements.

Counter depth
600–900 mm

A typical range, developed around the surfaces and staff-side functions.

Working surface height
Confirmed by use

Consider staff and equipment separately; it does not automatically follow the overall height.

Counter depth does not include the staff aisle. Please share a plan showing adjacent furniture, walls and equipment.

COUNTERTOP OPTIONS

Different surfaces for guests and staff.

Consider who uses each surface and what happens there before choosing its material and edge details.

Guest-facing countertop

Choose around the interior palette, preferred texture and feel, then coordinate the edges and corners.

  • Natural stone
  • Artificial stone
  • Sintered stone slabs

Staff working surface

Choose around equipment placement, daily tasks and washing requirements. Sink and equipment openings need to follow the actual specifications.

  • Textured stainless steel with a scratch-resistant finish
  • Artificial stone
  • Tempered glass

A scratch-resistant texture is a finish option; actual performance depends on the specific material, finish and use. Materials and construction details are confirmed for each project.

FRONT MATERIALS

Express the interior through materials and details.

Use one material or combine several finishes. These are options to discuss; colours, textures and connection details are developed around the selected counter design.

Aluminium profiles

Use profile shapes and spacing to create lines, rhythm and depth.

Glass

Coordinate transparency, colour and the structure behind the glass.

Stone

Connect the front, countertop and surrounding interior through natural or artificial stone.

Leather

Introduce texture and colour through leather finishes and panel arrangements.

Hammered metal

Use a textured metal surface to introduce relief and changing reflections.

Stainless steel

Define the metal finish through colour, surface treatment and joint layout.

Acrylic

Discuss sheet combinations around colour, transparency and lighting requirements.

Images from the LMC-SS-09 catalogue illustrate form and surface effects. Specific materials and configurations are confirmed for each project.

LINEAR LIGHTING

Design the lighting with the counter details.

Optional linear lighting can be considered alongside the front finish, countertop edge or base detail, with its position and effect coordinated with the overall design.

  • Identify the lines or materials you want to highlight
  • Coordinate the lighting effect with the surrounding space
  • Confirm light positions, wiring and maintenance access in the drawings

PLAN YOUR COUNTER

Start with four decisions.

A layout or visual reference is enough to begin the conversation. Open details can be resolved as the proposal develops.

01

Use and staff workflow

Reception or beverage service; staff numbers; and whether coffee, cocktail preparation, glass washing or handwashing areas are needed.

02

Dimensions and location

Share approximate length, depth and height with a site plan showing the staff aisle, nearby walls and other confirmed conditions.

03

Materials and lighting

Describe the front, guest top, working surface and lighting separately. Add catalogue examples or interior references where available.

04

Equipment and supply scope

Share specifications for selected equipment and sinks. Confirm openings, interfaces and the scope of supply before developing the counter details.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Can a reception desk and a bar counter share a similar appearance?

Yes. They can use a similar counter form and finish palette, with the staff side configured for its purpose. Reception layouts focus on the staff workspace; bar layouts consider drink preparation and washing requirements.

Does the counter have to be 1,100 mm high?

No. Approximately 1,100 mm is a typical overall height reference, with a typical depth of 600–900 mm. Both can be discussed for your project. The internal working surface height is confirmed separately.

Do the frame and front need to use the same material?

No. We primarily use a metal frame. Front options include aluminium profiles, glass, stone, leather, hammered metal, stainless steel and acrylic, with connections developed around the chosen materials.

How do I choose the guest top and working surface?

Guest-top options include natural stone, artificial stone and sintered stone slabs. Working surfaces can use textured stainless steel with a scratch-resistant finish, artificial stone or tempered glass. Each side can use a different material, selected for its intended use.

Can the counter accommodate coffee, cocktails and washing?

These areas can be planned around your project needs, equipment, sinks and site conditions. The supply scope for coffee machines and other equipment, sinks and associated items must be agreed individually.

Can we start with a reference image?

Yes. Use an image to show the visual direction, then share the intended use, approximate dimensions, material preferences and site layout. Specifications for any equipment or sinks are needed as the design develops.
